These gardens were named after the Mae West Bend, an exaggerated 90-degree
curve in Route 8 that some long-ago pilot decided looked like the profile of the movie star Mae West. In 2007, PennDOT
removed some of the sharpness of the curve and gave us the gardens we see today. They are named after other movie stars of
the Mae West era.
